  • Whence Bearded? :: Bearded Studio :: Web Development & Graphic Design – Bearded Studio is a relatively new on the Pittsburgh web development scene but not necessarily new to Pittsburgh. They have a great website and are working on some great projects. Check out this post that explains the name and provides some interesting information about letterpress printing.
  • Cooking up 10 Million Cookies a Year! – That is what Eat’n Park accomplishes each year as they create 10 million cookies to pass out for free for every child 10 and under. The company this week discussed the success of their cookie in the Pittsburgh Business Journal. An interesting fact from the article is how company had their largest increase in cookies sales as the Steelers won the 2006 Super Bowl, selling more than 350,000 black and gold smiley cookies

Links Worth a Look – November 7th

Here are some links/articles/blog posts that are worth a look:

  • 2008 Three Rivers Film Festival – Opens Nov. 7 – and runs until Nov. 22, 2008 – lots of great films coming to town. Which films do you reccomend?
  • new works « garbella – She is a member of the Pittsburgh Craft collective and she makes some great t-shirts and other screen printed items. IheartPGH was the first thing I screenprinted 5 years ago, long before I knew about blogs, so I have a love of anything screenprinted. I want a I bike PGH t-shirt! Check out this cool clock and the rest of her blog and Etsy shop.
  • Apple Festival and Pie Contest – Saturday at the Union Project – its all apples at the Apple Festival. There is also an Apple Pie contest.
  • Belt buckles, headbands, soap, t-shirts and more – check out some of the items that you will find at Handmade Arcade this weekend
