Pittsburgh Magazine's Eat Street visits Pangea – We are happy to see a write up on Pangea as we were just wondering if this place was still open. Lovely spot in Shadyside that is in the space where Pasta Piatto used to be years ago.
5 Place to Find Handmade in Pittsburgh – the blog Handmade in PA has a great post about 5 places to find handmade items – or make something handmade here in Pittsburgh – some are old favorites and some new finds too. (via the Pittsburgh Craft Collective)
Red Pop Shop on Etsy – Just learned about this nifty little online shop that is run by 3 Pittsburgh friends – a great selection on vintage housewares – glasses, mugs, plates, ash trays and more. Some handmade items too. Check out their $5 or less selections too.

The Gobblerito lands at Mad Mex – MadMex puts an entire thanksgiving dinner in a burrito for the month of November.
xmittens :: Xmittens Recycled + New Fabric Fashions Ship Worldwide! – I bought a pair of these fingerless mittens last year and I really like them. I was looking for them yesterday at Handmade Arcade so it is a lucky coincedence that the link to this shop arrived in my inbox today! Check out some of the other cozy handmade items they have for sale – and everything is made here in Pittsburgh.

L.L.Bean Funds Venture Outdoors Inclusivity Initiative : Venture Outdoors – L.L.Bean has agreed to provide a $20,000 grant to Venture Outdoors in celebration of their Pittsburgh store opening at Ross Park Mall. This funding will be used to jump-start our Inclusivity Initiative, as well as help launch our new Family-Focused Trip Series in 2009.
Jupe has a blog – I am so happy to find this bolg. Jupe is a great boutique on Carson Street. The ladies that own this store are great and I really appreciate that they offer lots of affordable items of clothing and accessories. Another great place to shop Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Restaurant Week is back for lunhc and dinner – In addition to their regular menu, participating restaurants will offer a three-course, prix-fixe dinner menu for $35.00 per person and may offer a three-course lunch menu for $25.00 per person. Designer Days: NCJW, – Each year the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women holds a massive clothing sale of new and used clothing at the Expo Mart. I have gottned some great things here in the past. If you are a clothing shopper this is worth a stop. The 2008 sale is on October 18 and 19.
Flavorville Cafe – this is the BEST place for lunch in Pittsburgh. Mike fed me lunch almost daily for a year. Mike is awesome and this place is tasty and affordable. I can't believe I haven't blogged about them yet. I will have to make a visit there and write more about Flavorville.
pairIncubator – World-Class Web Technology Incubator – this looks really cool – the folks behind pair networks are looking for a few good businesses to incubate. deadline is Jane 2, 2009.
