One of the many organizations that does good things in Pittsburgh is PUMP. PUMP stands for Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project and was founded 15 years ago when a grad student wrote a letter to the editor of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. What started as a group of volunteers looking to connect more young people to Pittsburgh has grown over the past 15 years into its own non profit organization with 4 staff members and many different events through out the year. PUMP’s annual 40 Under 40 turns 10 this year as well.
Networking and Sports. You have probably seen someone walking around Pittsburgh in a bright colored PSL t-shirt. What you might not know that PUMP is the organization responsible for running the Pittsburgh Sports League (PSL) – each season thousands – yes thousands of people participate in PSL sports leagues.
