Play It Forward – Musical Instrument ReUse at Construction Junction on March 7th

Musical InstrumentsImage by natekoechley via Flickr

Not only is this a great idea because it gives you a chance to recycle something you might not use any more, and to support kids but it is pretty cool that Play it Forward was inspired by a 13 year old Coleman Daugherty as part of his community service project for preparing for his Bar Mitzvah

“Wouldn’t it be cool to get people to donate the musical instruments that they’re not using to kids who would like to learn how to play music?” After exploring this idea with several members of the local musical community, Coleman discovered that there is indeed a need for donated instruments, but that no such program was currently operating to fulfill that need in the Pittsburgh region

Here is how it works

More information about Play It Forward is available at the Construction Junction Website.

Handmade Arcade — Unusual craft fair in Pittsburgh, PA

Pittsburgh is a lucky to have Handmade Arcade. Brooklyn and Chicago were the leaders in these DIY (do it yourself fairs) and now Pittsburgh has its very own venue to buy local handmade goods.

Visit the website http://www.handmadearcade.com
and make sure to stop by Construction Juntion on Nov. 12! A huge thanks from I heart PGH to the great people that make Handmade Arcade a reality in Pittsburgh.
