  • Snickie – New Pittsburgh food blog – PopCity media points out that there is a new food blog in town. check out some of the reviews and suggest some good places for pumpkin pickin
  • PodCamp Pittsburgh 2009: Wrap up – If you missed last week's PodCamp Pittsburgh #4 PopCity Media has a nice wrap up. Lots of great presenters from Pittsburgh and beyond. Food from Franktuary and treats from the Goodie Truck too.
  • Almost! – Tazza D’Oro – A sneak peek (with lots of photos) at the new Tazza D’Oro location on the CMU campus. More good coffee in more places.
  • G21st Street at 21st Street Coffee and Tea – 21st Street Coffee and Tea in the Strip District will be open for the G20

  • Ambiance Boutique to Open a 3rd Location in Lawrenceville in September 2009 – Ambiance Boutique is a project of the non profit Bethlhem Haven – they have two consignment shops located in Regent Square and Oakmont all of the proceeds from Ambiance Boutique benefit Bethlehem Haven. A third location will be opening on Butler Street in Lawrenceville in September 2009. They have a great selection on women’s clothing (the Oakmont location also carries home decor items) and are very helpful when it comes to taking consignments too. Zippty Zipcar – get $25 in free driving

One of the other things I talked about on WDVE this am is the Zipcar low-car diet that just ended last week. Pittsburgh is one of the 50+ city that has Zipcars parked around town. Once you are a member, you can reserve a car online and drive it when you need it.

I know Pittsburgh is a driving town – but if you are a student and just need to use a car once in a while for a trip to the grocery store or Ikea – or maybe you have a car for your family but once in a while you need to use a pick up truck – Zipcar is the perfect solution. The hourly rate is about $10 and that includes gas AND insurance. Continue reading →
