Sundae Market Returns

sundaemarket.jpg

I attended the Sundae Market last fall – they do a really nice job of bringing together a great group of vendors and the new and improved Schenley Park Entrance is the perfect venue. This photo is from the market last fall.  Click here to read a blog post from Kathy who attended the market last week.  She has some pictures of the park and Oakland too.

Update your art collection, score a pair of designer shoes, and dance in the sunshine at the Sundae Flea Market at Schenley Plaza from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. More than 40 vendors, from artists to crafters to local shops offering great sales, will be on hand selling their wares. Live DJs headlined by DJ Nugget will provide entertainment.

Presented by the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and Dream Store Media in partnership with I Made It! Market. For more info, visit www.schenleyplaza.org or call 412-682-7275.

Free Yoga Mondays

Every Monday from Noon to 1pm, Free Yoga classes will be offered at the Schenley Plaza Park (the new park with the big tent that used to be a parking lot in oakland.)  More info is available here.  While you are surfing the web check out the new blog for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy – It is new but they have some great information and pictures too.  Check out this picture of the original carousel at the park.

Flying Discs are not UFOs

Schenley Park is home to one of Pittsburgh’s disc golf courses.  Check out this popular sport, which is like golf but with frisbees, with Venture Outdoors this weekend.

Intro to Disc Golf
Don’t call it “Frisbee Golf,” and for the love of all that’s good, don’t ever call it “Frolf!” Disk Golf is one of the most rapidly growing sports in the world! Join us for a great day of fun that virtually anyone can enjoy! The activity will be structured to familiarize people with the three main types of golf discs, understand the flight patterns of the various discs within those three categories, and effective methods for gripping and releasing the disc to maximize distance and minimize your score. Sponsored by our friends at the Pittsburgh Flying Disc Society.
