Super First Friday

The first Friday of every month is Unblurred on Penn Ave – business, galleries, and cafes along Penn Ave stay open late with special events for a big street party.  This Friday is an awesome line up of events.

YOUTH BARISTA PROGRAM RECEPTION Free coffee and dessert reception and the official introduction of the Youth Barista Program to our community. The program, a partnership with Starbucks, is an onsite skills training program for young adults. Over the coming year this program will train 30 young men and women aging out of foster care. OPEN HOUSE The Sprout Fund welcomes friends and supporters to an open house at its new home. Duke of Ribs

The Union Project hosts the 2nd Annual Rib-Off.  One winner will be crowned the Duke of Ribs fo r 2007.  Chefs will compete  for  prizes and fame .  The winner will be decided by a panel of celebrity judges.
Tasty food, live DJS and fun times for all.

Walk to D’Feet ALS

ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The ALS association of Western PA does a tremendous amount to support those living with ALS right here in Western, Pa. The walk to D’Feet ALS is ALS Association largest annual fundraiser to raise money for patient services and research; and to raise awareness about ALS.  This is a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy the zoo and to support a great cause.

Schedule: Registration begins at 8:00am, walk participants must enter the zoo by 9:00am in order to receive free admission to the zoo. The Walk begins promptly at 9:15am.
