Today, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 is Primary Election Day in the state of Pennsylvania. I am particularly interested to see how the turnout for this local election compares to previous primary elections that occur after a presidential election. Since November, there has been an incredible volume of posts on social media about getting involved in local issues. The turnout today will be an interesting metric of if posting about local politics translates into voting locally.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19, 2015 is primary election day in Pittsburgh. Most of the registered voters in Pittsburgh are democrats (I have been trying to find the exact percentage of Pittsburgh voters who are registered as democrats, but I have yet to find that statistic). As a result, most of the elections in the City of Pittsburgh are determined in the Primary election. The folks at Progress Pittsburgh have put together a big table with candidates for most of the city and county races that includes information about which candidates have been endorsed by the Post-Gazette, Planned Parenthood, P2pac, Allegheny County Democratic Committee and other groups. The table also includes links for more info on each of the candidates.
