Young PA

Who says young people don’t stay in Pittsburgh.  This weekend Pittsburgh is hosting imPAct – PA statewide conference for young professionals.  This Friday, Saturday and Sunday you and meet with other Young Professionals from all across PA and learn about some great things for your career and your community.  The imPAct conference has a great line up of break out sessions and speakers.  Here are a few of the speakers I have had the opportunity to talk with and I know they will have interesting and informative presentations.

  • Eve Picker – No Wall Productions/We Do Property Management/Pop City Media
  • Luke Skurman – College Prowler
  • Betsy Bechtolt Magley – The Andy Warhol Museum

Many of the sessions focus on getting and finding a job you like – so if you are hunting for a job, or are a college senior who is about to begin your job hunt, the imPAct conference is an excellent place to network.

Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Party

This event was sent in by a fan of IheartPGH who gave me a call last week.  Stop by Olive or Twist this Friday, September 14th to celebrate the fact that St. Patrick’s day is only 6 months away.  Here are some other reasons why I think this event is going to be a great time…

  • Party with a purpose – proceeds benefit Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
  • Olive or Twist is a great bar, lots of comfortable seating, and smoke free
  • Fashion from some of the great local shops.  I have always had a warm, helpful reception from the owners of Jupe on the South Side.  Jupe is a locally owned boutique with a great selection of clothing and accessories at really reasonable prices.  I haven’t stopped by Sugar Boutique in a while, but I have read great things about the new owner.
