I went to the theater and a fight broke out

So just when I think we may be starting to hit a midwinter lull in activities, let me qualify that by saying that a lull means there are like 3 less cool things to do each week in Pittsburgh – I get an email about this awesome theater production.

I am not going to lie, I am personally not crazy about the theater, I like theater, but it rarely makes the top of my list – mostly because I don’t like sitting still for 2 hours straight.

I think this is a production I can really get into –

Pandora’s Box Theater & Eclectic Mayhem presents A Night at the Fights

From Macbeth vs. Macduff, Cyrano vs. Valvert, and Peter Pan vs. Captain Hook, to some of the greatest fights you’ve never heard of, a talented cast of local combat aficionados will entertain by re-enacting thirteen illustrious conflicts from the theatrical repertoire.

One performance of all of the best fight scenes. Awesome.

What is Eclectic Mayhem? I was wondering the same thing – according to their website – they are experts in stage combat based in Pittsburgh – “since we are based in Pittsburgh, pirates are a specialty!”

Eclectic Mayhem consists of Tonya Lynn and Adam Rutledge, theater artists with over a decade of combined experience in Stage Combat performance and choreography. Both are affiliated with the Society of American Fight Directors and the United Stuntmen’s Association.

Who knew there was a society of American Fight Directors and a United Stuntmen’s Association – I love that there is an association for everything.  Once for work I had to contact the  Pickle Packers International – their website is IlovePickles.org.
