Who’s Telling Your Life Story?
September 30, 2017 @ 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
The memoirist is asked to play many roles simultaneously—that of the author (you, sitting at the keyboard), the character (younger you, in the scenes you are recollecting), and the narrator. This last role is both the slipperiest and perhaps the most important.
But how do you find your narrator and make them work for your story?
In this exclusive daylong workshop, led by visiting author Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich, participants will discover what a strong narrator can give an author—and, equally important, when the narrator should step back and allow the character to come to the forefront. Join us for expert instruction, writing exercises, and guided study.
Tickets are on sale for an early registration price of $79.*
Breakfast and coffee will be provided, and the workshop will break at noon for lunch at the surrounding restaurants. Alexandria will have copies of her new, highly-regarded book, “The Fact of a Body,” for sale onsite.
*Advance registration is strongly recommended.
