For very beginners or spinners who want a reminder of basic skills. No prior experience needed.

The stuff of fairy tales and legends, the spinning wheel dates back to the Middle Ages. In this class, you’ll learn basic spinning theory, examine the anatomy of a spinning wheel, and learn to spin! We’ll take advantage of Steel City Fiber Collective’s wide range of spinning wheels and discuss how different types of wheels suit different types of yarn (and people!).

Locally sourced wool roving from Ross Farms will be provided for use in class. Additional roving may be purchased for $10, payable to instructor.
