Join the champions of the sport, World Record Holder Kurt “Mountain Man” Steiner, Dave “Spiderman” Ohmer, and Russ “Rock Bottom” Byars, as they demostrate their skills on the Allegheny River in Lawrenceville in preperation for the premiere rock skipping tournament in Franklin, PA August 19th.
This is really a thing, and it’s something Western PA dominates! We love Pittsburgh, and this is yet another thing to love about Pittsburgh
Program Schedule:
7 pm – Onstage interview by Alex Gordon from the City Paper with the Champions! (Ticketed Portion)
7:15 pm – Pittsburgh Premiere of the new documentary film, “Skips Stones For Fudge” about the pursuit of the world record here in Western PA. (Ticketed Portion)
8:30 pm – We head down to the Allegheny River under the 40th Street Bridge in Lawrenceville for a demostration of their ridicilous skill, including some tips from the pros. You can watch from the river bank or from above on the 40th Street Bridge. (FREE and open to the public)
