Rodef Shalom Walking Tour

Rodef Shalom Congregation is the oldest Jewish congregation in western Pennsylvania. Visit this historic landmark designed by architect Henry Hornbostel. View the stunning sanctuary and the synagogue’s stained-glass windows. The synagogue also boasts a public art art collection, including an artwork by artist Kent Bloomer titled “Relief.” The tour will be led by Rodef Shalom Congregation docent Lynne Jacobson, and Eric Lidji, writer and director of the Rauh Jewish History Program & Archives at the Heinz History Center.
This tour is limited to 50 people; only 19 spots remain. Participants will meet in the commons area. The entrance to the commons is located under the porte-cochère behind the synagogue off of Fifth Avenue. Free parking is available at Rodef Shalom Congregation; it is located behind the building.
