Noir Night Out returns for a late summer edition! A classic film noir, screening on a 35mm print, with chili, beer, and hot dogs grilled right outside the theater!

Doors open at 6pm, full ticket price of $15 ($12 for members) includes plenty of chili (meatless options available), hot dogs with a gourmet toppings bar (meatless options available), baked beans, potato salad and two complimentary drink tickets for beer supplied by our newest partner MIndful Brewing! You can expect two different draft styles of fresh, well crafted brews from them! Snapple iced teas, root beer, and ginger ale can all be substituted for beer.

Long considered one of the quintessential film noirs, this tough, sardonic, and unusually witty film features hard-boiled detective Philip Marlowe (Dick Powell) hired by ex-con Moose Malloy (Mike Mazurki) to find his missing girlfriend Velma. Shortly thereafter, Marlowe is hired by socialite Mrs. Grayle (Claire Trevor) to find a valuable jade necklace that has been stolen from her. Marlowe finds the necklace and also finds blackmail, double crosses, corruption, and murder on both sides of the tracks. Director Edward Dmytryk creates a truly bleak and disorienting netherworld populated by a variety of sordid characters, including Mike Mazurki at his best. Claire Trevor is superlative in a difficult role and gives an unequaled performance as the most evil of femme fatales.
