Melissa Sweet has illustrated more than 80 children’s books including the Caldecott Honor books The Right Word: Roget and His Thesaurus and A River of Words: The Story of William Carlos Williams. She also wrote and illustrated the beloved picture books Tupelo Rides the Rails, Carmine: A Little More Red, and Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy’s Parade, which garnered a Silbert Medal.
