This presentation will explain how crowdfunding works, the three common models (not including equity crowdfunding), what types of projects and businesses work best for each model, common variations between crowdfunding sites, and tips on how to run a successful crowdfunding campaign. The goal of the session is to help you determine whether crowdfunding is right for your business and, if so, how to increase your chance of success by applying best practices and identifying the best crowdfunding platform for your business and situation.

This presentation will be led by Emily Keebler, Kiva Pittsburgh Program Director, who has been helping business owners crowdfund loans via Kiva.org for 3+ years.
