Known for its outrageousness, this film stars the drag queen Divine as a criminal under the name ‘Babs Johnson’. After being deemed “the filthiest person alive” by tabloids, jealous rivals and criminals seek to undo Divine’s fame.

Directed, filmed, and produced by John Waters, Polyester stars drag queen Divine as a housewife who is involved in a series of scandals and misfortunes regarding her children, cheating husband, and scheming mother.

———About Multiple Maniacs (1970)——-
The second feature film of John Waters and starring the Dreamland acting troupe for his films, Multiple Maniacs follows the crazed and perverse adventures of Lady Divine as she attempts to run a sideshow scheme that ends in robbery….and soon after, murder.
