D.O.A – A Rite of Passage New Restoration one night only!

November 16, 2017 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Vinyl Remains, Dormont’s own record store, will be on hand to raffle records and shirts FOR FREE!

“D.O.A….is as much of a Woodstock as punk may ever inspire.” — New York Times

“The Sex Pistols’ rendition of ‘God Save The Queen’ alone is worth the price of admission.” — Village Voice

“It’s the eerie Spungen-Vicious dialogue that will probably haunt most viewers.” — Rolling Stone

Presented in a brand-new restoration, D.O.A.: A RIGHT OF PASSAGE is the groundbreaking, iconic rockumentary classic about punk’s incendiary origin, available for the first time since its 1980s release!

Centered around the Sex Pistols’ ill-fated ’78 American tour — which ended with the group infamously disbanding — this molotov cocktail of a rock doc (originally produced by High Times Magazine!) not only features this blistering Pistols footage, but also sweat-soaked, in-your-face performances by fellow giants X-Ray Spex, Generation X w/ Billy Idol, Sham 69 and the Dead Boys.

Director Lech Kowalski deftly weaves this raucous experience together with footage of edgy trends in the fashion capitals, punks of all shapes/sizes and silly naysaying from critics. Most notoriously, D.O.A. contains one of the final interviews recorded with Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen before their tragic deaths mere months later. This legendary sequence alone is worth the price of admission to any fan of rock ’n roll history. Film courtesy of MVD Rewind.
