Join the Hill Community Development Corporation, Vernard Alexander, Kiva Pittsburgh, Woodforest National Bank, and Urban Innovation21 for a “shark tank” event with Hill District businesses!

The 5 participants from the BLAST Summer 2017 Cohort will be pitching their businesses to a panel of judges. They are seeking funding for a Kiva loan for the development and growth of their businesses, whether that be a piece of equipment or a service. Audience members will be able to participate, by lending live to the BLAST participants.

Best Pitch will receive a prize at the end of the night!

What is BLAST?

BLAST stands for Business Leadership Academy for Social Transformation. This year’s BLAST program is comprised of a small cohort keenly focused on developing leadership skills and the importance of a having strong elevator pitch to effectively cast a vision that will attract stakeholders and investors to advance the growth of the business and its position within the community. This training is designed to position participants as business leaders with the resources necessary to create opportunities in the Hill.
