Brewcast

Podcast + Beer = Brewcast

I was sitting here crying about the fact that I have missed the mirco brew festival this summer (Jason – how could you let me miss this). I was browsing through some of my favorite blogs and luckily the guys from Should I Drink That have got the beer festivals covered in their latest podcast.

I have had the opportunity to meet Sick Puppy and Father Spoon, the hosts of Should I Drink That, last year at PodCamp.

This is a picture of me and Sick Puppy at the Podcamp Party with the Tiki Bar TV people. Look at how much fun I was having with the Should I Drink That crew.

If you like beer then you need to know about Should I Drink That.

In their words:

Aggressive beer podcast dedicated to spreading the word of craft beer. Even if it’s crap we drink it so you don’t have to.

Sick Puppy and Father Spoon have been drinking beer and podcasting about it for over a year now. They have a great run down on beer and Pittsburgh places to drink beer.

You can find the SIDT brewcast on itunes or on their website shouldidrinkthat.com.

text YINZ to 41411

I have been checking out this company Reactee today (you can see my other post about Reachtee here).  Basically, your order a t-shirt from Reactee that has a code on it.  When people text your code to 41411, they get a message back from you.

I was browsing the gallery and I wanted to make sure that the code “yinz” was put to good use.

Check out the IheartPGH Reactee

The code is live, so feel free to send a text to 41411 with the word yinz.

I haven’t ordered one yet.  Would you wear a t-shirt like this?  I can change the reply to the text at any time.  I am open to suggestions – feel free to submit ideas below or email me at info – at – iheartpgh.com

Blogging in the Burgh

We may have blogged about this before, but it certainly worth reblogging about.

Pittsburgh Bloggers is THE site to find out about blogs in the burgh.  If you want to see what people are blogging about in Pittsburgh this is the place.  Pittsburgh Bloggers has hundred of blogs in their blogroll.  If you live in Pittsburgh, and have a blog, then you should list your blog here.
Pittsburgh Bloggers also syndicates the feeds of the Pittsburgh blogs so it is has a minute by minute display of new blog posts in Pittsburgh.  As I write this post people in Pittsburgh are blogging about everything from the Pens loss to shoplifting.

Meet the League

I just wanted to share this invitation to meet the PA League of Young voters.  I have had the honor of meeting their national director, Billy Wimstat, on a number of occasions.  Billy is passionate, creative and dedicated to getting more people, young people involved in the political process.  I am now the Pittsburgh rep to the League of Young Voter’s national council.
Pittsburgh’s own Khari Mosley has worked to establish Pittsburgh as a major hub for the League of Young Voters.  Billy, Khari and all of the folks at The League are doing an amazing job of using technology, arts and hard work to bring more people into the political process.  Even if you aren’t “in to politics” this is one fun group of people.  The League of Young Voters, is not just young people, I promise there will be people of all ages there.  I highly recommend you stop by and say hello and check out what they are up to.
