There Is Still Plenty of Video and DVD For Rent in Pittsburgh at C Video & DVD in Shadyside

Classic Video and DVD now in Shadyside has been alive and well for 21 years renting movies. A large inventory from Silent Film to New Releases including one of the best selections of Foreign Film titles in the city on both formats.

You can just give a call to 412-621-3232 and chat with Cathy about movies. Or visit at 735 Copeland St. right off Walnut St. for a personal movie discussion.

When you get a membership you can even keep a list on file at the store of movies you wish you could remember that you wanted to see.

It’s easy and fun and the experience is well worth the trip or walk to Shadyside.

Dreaming Ant – Pittsburgh’s independent, documentary, gay, lesbian & foreign DVD rental source. Dreaming Ant is a double shot of local Pittsburgh as it is located in the back of the Bloomfield coffee shop – Crazy Mocha (on Liberty Ave in the heart of the Bloomfield buisiness district). So there is a place to rent independent video’s in Pittsburgh, no more waiting for the video that you had to order from the internet to arrive. So scoot on over to Bloomfield for a cup of coffee and a place to rent videos that is locally owned. (IheartPGH is a frequent Crazy Mocha visitors because we heart the free wireless internet)

Best bar in the Burgh?

What’s the best bar in Pittsburgh? My vote goes to Duke’s, located in that no-man’s land between North Oakland and Bloomfield. Why?

1) It’s dirt cheap.

2) The clientele is a mix of tattooed lowlives, bicycle punks, homeless people, and grad students.

3) The jukebox isn’t exactly a music snob’s iPod, but for a bar, it’s good.

4) It’s dirt cheap. (amazingly, they carry good beer as well as the usual (delicious) crap– Arrogant Bastard or Franziskaner for way less than the Sharp Edge)

6) I’ve almost gotten into a fight there at least three times.

7) One time I roll in a midnight to find the bar packed with people, staring silently at the TV and watching… Lord of the Rings!

8) The current bartender looks like a short The Rock.

Pittsburgh Hip-Hop Film Festival

Pittsburgh Hip-Hop Film Festival runs Nov. 16-20th. Pittsburgh is awesome. I have not yet had the chance to make it to see the film fest yet but it is on the list for this weekend.
Pittsburgh is so lucky to have great people organizing events like a Hip Hop Film Festival. Even if you don’t know what hip hop is I am sure this will be a fantastic collection of great films.
