The Harris is on Hiatus

Just wanted to say hello to the good folks from the Harris Grill – and the amazing Pittsburgh Fire department. The Harris caught fire last weekend and will be closed for some time to rebuild. The Pittsburgh Fire department arrived lighting fast, the fire was brought under control quickly and thankfully everyone got out of the building with out any problems. This is sad loss for Pittsburgh’s bacon lovers and out door happy hour fans. In the meantime, we need to find a few good places to drink outside for the last few weeks of summer. Please leave yours suggestions about other great patios to enjoy.

Bringing Bacon Back

We have blogged about this before (TGIB, November 2005).  I was just back at the Harris Grill last week enjoying their amazing establishment …

  • delightful outdoor seating
  • delicious food – I heart baby burgers
  • tasty beer
  • delightful fire pit in winter – I hope you will bring this back again this fall
  • super fun people who work there – my server Matt last week could not have been nicer

But there is another reason to love this place, no it is not the awesome pictures on the menus (I hope someday that can be me), or the frozen cosmos (love those too).

I was able to confirm that indeed, every Tuesday is still BACON NIGHT.  Thats right kids, free baskets of bacon at the bar.  I think there is a $1 charge to enjoy your bacon outside.  I think you will agree $1 is a small price to pay for bacon with your beer on the patio.
