Brad Yoder @ Franktuary

Brad Yoder is a Pittsburgh based rock star. Brad performs all over the country, but most often here in Pittsburgh. True story – my dad happened to be in Colorado and ran into Brad performing. I am familiar with Brad’s music as my sister and her friends are huge fans and almost every mix cd in the car has some Brad Yoder tracks.
Brad was recently voted best solo artist by Pittsburgh City Paper readers.

Tomorrow, Friday, January 4th Brad will be performing at Franktuary from noon to 1:30pm. Another great reason to leave your office, stop eating holiday left overs (christmas cookies don’t really count as lunch anyways) and head over to see the good folks at Franktuary.

Franktuary 325 Oliver Ave, Downtown Pittsburgh.

Pretzel Love

I have been posting some reviews of Pittsburgh places over on Yelp! (I think everyone else should leave their reviews and pictures there too). I know I have blogged about my love for the Pretzel shop before but I am going to share it again. I stopped in this morning and I love this place! This is a picture of a bag of fresh pretzels that I picked up this morning.

This is THE BEST place to eat in Pittsburgh. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. I love pretzels! I love this place. I love that they won’t wait on you if you are talking on your cell phone. I love that lunch is less than $3.
My second favorite food to pretzels is probably rice krispie treats – and they sell those too. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!! I am adding some pictures of fresh pretzels!

“We hope to be a positive part of the community and provide a place for neighbors to meet, chat, and relax. We hope to make wholesome food and quality coffee, teas, and juices available to our community and strive to obtain as many local, organic, natural, and/or fairly traded ingredients and products as possible. We aren’t trying to for anything too fancy or complicated. We are just ordinary folks, who have never done this before figuring it out as we go along and appreciate the support of our neighbors.”

Hoi Polloi opened last week and they have fresh juices, smoothies, and a small vegetarian menu. Check’em out!

Frank Goodness

Franktuary is giving everyone 2 more weeks to submit an application for customer or the year. I love that they select a customer of the year. What a great way to support the hot dog eaters of Pittsburgh. If you are selected customer of the year you are rewarded with free meal every week for the next year – tasty!

Additionally – another great holiday gift recommendations – Franktuary gift certificates. Support your local hot dog shop while showering your friends and family with tasty gifts.
