You can be crowned Pittsburgh’s Donut Eating Champion

To celebrate the grand opening of Dunkin Donuts in Market Square, Dunkin Donuts will be holding a donut eating contest at this weeks Stay and Play Fridays.

While I think competitive eating is a little strange I am sure this will provide some great entertainment. Live music and outdoor fun. I saw the Boogie Hustlers a few years ago at Modern Formations. Good times.

You can be crowned Pittsburgh’s Donut Eating Champion and win awesome prizes!

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!

TO REGISTER: All you have to do is send your name, nickname and e-mail address to: Elyse@trecommunications.com and you can participate. Continue reading

Pittsburgh Idol

Okay, no quite American Idol, but this is an impressive event showing off some of Pittsburgh’s best young performers.

On Tuesday, January 15th, the Union Project hosts another Youth Talent Showcase

At last month’s Talent Showcase the judges and crowd were offered outstanding performances including local dance troupes, emerging hiphop artists, and solo vocalists. We are taking slot reservations for students. Just send an email to hilary@unionproject.org , titled “Contestant” with the name and talent of the youth participating. There will be some slots left open for walk-in contestants the night of the event.

“We hope to be a positive part of the community and provide a place for neighbors to meet, chat, and relax. We hope to make wholesome food and quality coffee, teas, and juices available to our community and strive to obtain as many local, organic, natural, and/or fairly traded ingredients and products as possible. We aren’t trying to for anything too fancy or complicated. We are just ordinary folks, who have never done this before figuring it out as we go along and appreciate the support of our neighbors.”

Hoi Polloi opened last week and they have fresh juices, smoothies, and a small vegetarian menu. Check’em out!
