The New New Yinzer on Myron Cope, Pork, This American Life, Full House and Phil Collins

The New Yinzer is not a person, it is an online magazine, and it is back with new content. It has been a while since I have heard anything from the New Yinzer folks. I was very happy to hear that the New Yinzer is back with a brand new edition. I am not sure if they are still using this logo but I like the logo so I thought I would include it here.

This issue of the New Yinzer includes and article about Myron Cope’s magazine work. The Yinzer Gourmet column offers up what looks to be a tasty recipe for Kahlua Pig.

I am also really enjoyed reading the interview with Starlee Kine from This American Life. Even though I dread driving long distances, which I consider to be anything more than 15 minutes, I have tolerated by the drive by listening to This American Life. TAL and Ira Glass have helped me to appreciate and realize some of the powers of story telling – usually entertaining and often educational. Blogging is an on going story and I like to think of IheartPGH as an on going story about Pittsburgh.

This American Life taught me what a good story was. And you can do anything once you know [that].”

This interview with Kine covers lots of other great topics – Kine attended the same high school that Andrea Barber, she played Kimmy Gibbler on Full House, attended. I also appreciate Kine’s willingness to consult Phil Collins on issues of break up songs.

This issue of The New Yinzer combines some of my favorite things into a convent, online, Pittsburgh themed format. I am happy to read about Myron Cope, I like pulled pork, I love This American Life and I am alway happy to reference the tv show Full House (I think I watched that show every day after school but before dinner for 5 years in a row) .
