The Pittsburgh Banshees held their first practice of the season on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Carrick High School. Practice begins at 1:00 pm and is open to any woman interested in learning a new sport.
The sport of Gaelic football has a long and proud history as one of the national games of Ireland. The Pittsburgh Banshees has been a part of continuing that tradition right here in Pittsburgh for the past five years. The Pittsburgh Banshees are a junior level team that competes against teams from Cleveland, Detroit, Washington D.C. and other teams all across the country. The Banshees have qualified to compete in the National Championships three of their five seasons.
They are looking for new players to contribute to a successful team. Players range in age from 16-40 years young. If players are interested, they can show up for practice any Sunday in April, or go to www.pittsburghbanshees.com for more information.
