Introduction to Crowdfunding for Small Business

This is the fifth workshop in the 2017 Business Success Series presented by Urban Innovation21.

Crowdfunding is a new tool that entrepreneurs are using to acquire business capital. This presentation will explain how crowdfunding works, the three common models (excluding the newer equity crowdfunding), what types of projects work best for each model, common variations between crowdfunding sites, and tips on how to run a successful crowdfunding campaign. The goal of the session is to help you determine whether crowdfunding is right for your business and, if so, how to increase your chance of success by applying best practices and identifying the best crowdfunding platform for your business and situation.
