Well now, this is amusing. I attempted to post this back in March, but the date was incorrectly posted to read 1969.
HMM. Laughter. Back to the original post:
Thanks to Subdivided We Stand for pointing out this slideshow of the STEEL CITY DERBY DEMONS.
Hell yeah!&#!@$!!!! Team membership is closed to overwhelming response BUT they do need VOLUNTEERS and SPONSORS. They’ll have their first bout in 2007.
There’s just one thing I don’t understand though …
This Post-Gazette article provides a nice introduction to the team. However, it’s not quite your expected PG coverage:
‘Whatever your gender or preferences,’ writes reporter Bob Batz, Jr., ‘there is an undeniable sexiness to seeing all these women stretching, boldly trying something new, being not (too) worried about how their hair looks, helping each other up after they fall.
‘After two hours, they plop down on the benches and the floor, their cheeks, facial and otherwise, flushed. You feel their hearts pounding. There’s no mistaking that smell — and it ain’t “perspiration.”‘
Huh?
I'm guessing he means that "perspiration" is too politically-correct/delicate/girly-sounding, and that these women smell like good, old-fashioned "sweat." I hope?
I hope so, too. Wonder how may emails Mr. Batz got regarding that comment?
