If free beer isn’t your thing, how about free cupcakes. This Friday, March 26 – Dozen will preview their new summer cupcake menu with a FREE cupcake tasting party at their Lawrenceville location. You can find info about all 5 Dozen locations here – http://www.dozencupcakes.com/
Dozen cupcakes sells cupcakes and lots more – including rice krispie treats (a personal favorite), cookies, brownies, brunch and more. Currently Dozen is in the lead on Boring PGH’s cupcake poll – Dozen vs. Coco’s.
Here are some reviews of Dozen from other bloggers:
- Pittsburgh Hot Plate – Dozen Cupcakes, Squirrel Hill
- “ If you really enjoy a cupcake (as most people do) Dozen Bakeshop in Squirrel Hill should be on your short list of places to visit.”
- Burghilicious – Breakfast with Elvis at Dozen Cupcakes
- “I went for the Elvis: a banana cupcake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with peanut butter buttercream frosting. I’ll admit, I was skeptical, but I have learned enough to know that you can usually trust a baker. True to his namesake, Elvis was a hit.”
- Kristin Kipke – 72 Hours in Pittsburgh
- “With names like “The Elvis,” “Very Vanilla” and “Jack & Coke,” their delicious cupcake menu changes daily.”
- Slush –
My Field Trip to Dozen Cupcakes
- “They are awesome. I went into it with an open mind. I was not going to let the nightmare stories about famous bakeries in NYC and their awfully overpriced, and dry cupcakes ruin it for me. Dozen Cupcakes knows what its doing. They mean business.”
- She also writes for the blog – All Things Cupcake – you can check out her interview with Dozen’s owner James Gray here.
- EatPGH – Dozen Bake Shop
- “I think because this ccake was baked in-house, it was at prime freshness, moistness, and goodness”
