Friday and Saturday at The Oaks Theater : Return of the Living Dead

For the horror and comedy fans in Pittsburgh – The Oaks Theater will be showing Return of the Living Dead on Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 10pm and Saturday, August 1, 2009 @ Midnight.

What if Night of the Living Dead actually happened? And the government DID try to cover up a zombie outbreak, and then allow a movie studio to make a film about it? AND, what if during the clean-up of said film some of the zombies were taken to the wrong place and accidentally unleashed on an unsuspecting town? Well, then you’d have Return of the Living Dead, a hilarious punk rock comedy zomblie flick, featuring a legendary soundtrack with music by The Cramps, 45 Grave, Roky Erickson, T.S.O.L. and The Damned. The film tells the story of how a group of teenage punks deal with a horde of brain-hungry zombies.

Reservoir of Jazz @ the Highland Park Reservoir – Every Sunday in August

Another great FREE activity for your Sunday evenings. There is a great dedicated community group, I should say groups in Highland Park and the park and the surrounding areas just keep getting better. Enrico’s Tazzo D’Oro is just a few blocks from the park and rumor has it that Point Brugge will be opening a second location in Highland Park in the near future.  Sundays in August 5-7pm.
