Chris Ivey is a Pittsburgh based filmmaker who has traveled around the world working on documentary films. Over the past 2 years he has been working on a film about East Liberty called East of Liberty. I had a chance to see some of the raw footage when Chris started working on this and in the past year he even shown the film in London. East of Liberty is a look at the stories and the people of East Liberty who aren’t usually the ones getting the media attention around some of the current development there. The Union Project is showing the film as part of their Monday conversation series about the neighborhood. I think this is well worth attending. I am including the details below the video clip.

Where was this screened in London? I used to work for a documentary film foundation there. I’d love to see it!
It premiered at the Dalston Rio in the Hackney area almost a year ago. It premiered through Hackney Independent with some promotional assistance from the Sprout Fund.
