I have never heard of this event. But I do like Spaghetti!
Apparently the people for KDKA have a free Spaghetti Breakfast in Market Square each year.
I would love to know some of the history of this event – if you know some information or have attended in the past – leave a comment or send an email!
Here are the details for this years event:
Friday, September 8th, 5am-9am, Market Square, Downtown.
I am the Sales Promotion Director at News/Talk 1020 KDKA and saw your posting on our KDKA Spaghetti Breakfast. Thanks for your interest!
Sept. 8th will mark our 23rd Spaghetti Breakfast, an annual event held during a live on-site broadcast of the KDKA Morning News with Larry Richert, in Market Square. We offer freshly-made pasta, meatballs, sausage, bread, coffee and dessert for our listeners and the people of the Pittsburgh area.
The food is delicious – last year alone we served 5,707! Plus, enjoy free entertainment! The Spaghetti Breakfast began in 1983, when former KDKA morning host John Cigna wanted to put on a promotion to thank his listeners – and celebrate his Italian heritgage. Since 1983, we've served over 110,000 breakfasts – and the rest is history! All are welcome – join us Sept 8, 5am-9am in Market Square!
