Passports: Art of Diversity – Estate Sale and Gallery

Having just returned to the area I’ve been hitting up flea markets and Goodwills as well as doing my fair share of garage sailing.  I’ve inexplicably started reading the Pennysaver, which I have never really done before.  I was intrigued by an estate sale ad that advertised the gamut of antiques, furniture, art, jewelry, and vintage clothes.  I was also excited because it started at 8am this morning, and being currently unemployed, this meant I could be there for first crack at the bounty. What I didn’t realize was that the estate sale’s address 5110 Penn Avenue (at Winebiddle) is the new home of Passports: Art of Diversity gallery.  The sale was a way to raise money for the gallery’s new space on Penn Ave.  The “Cool Stuff” sale was a great mix of pottery, linens, furniture and some other neat odds n ends.  The highlight of the sale was in the back where there was tons of vintage costume jewelry for great prices.  There was also some interesting collages and other works, a highlight of what the gallery might become.  I settled on this $8 print of the Golden Triangle as a welcome home gift. golden.jpg Passports: Art of Diversity will be open tonight from 6-9 pm as part of Unblurred and the “Cool Stuff” estate sale will continue tomorrow from 8AM to noon.  6PM-9PM | PASSPORTS: ART DIVERSITY – 5110 PENN AVE.  “COOL STUFF” SALE AND GALLERY PREVIEW Come view Penn Avenue’s newest gallery-in-the making, have refreshments and weigh-in with your own comments and suggestions!
