Come and Get it! Pittsburgh Public Market Opens for Business

Finally.

The Pittsburgh Public Market is open for business.

I was able to sneak in during the PPM’s preview weekend and I was blown away by the mix of scents, flavors, tastes, friendly faces, and sense of community the PPM brings to people who visit.

Located at the Pittsburgh Produce Terminal on Smallman Street parking might be hard to find, but it’s more than worth it.

Visiting the PPM is like going to all those little shops you always said you’d visit but never got around to visiting. September 10th, 11th and 12th is the Grand Opening weekend, and I think you should work it into your plans.

Local Indian restaurant Tamarind is hosting Spices, a shop full of imported goods and locally created treats that encourage me to attempt to make my own chicken tikka masala.

Our friends from Clarion River Organics promise to bring us the freshest and heartiest produce year-round.

It’s easy to become entranced by the meat selection presented by the Crested Duck Charcuterie.

Bring your growler for a fill-up by our friends at East End, opening for growler hours with 4 taps in a few weeks.

I could go on and on about every vendor there, all with impressive booths and offerings at decent prices, but you’ll just have to see for yourself.

Yes, it was worth the wait.
