Over on the Northside, tucked into the Mexican War Steets is an old Mattress Factory that is now a museum which showcases works of art that incorporate the entire room. From their website:
The Mattress Factory is a museum of contemporary art that exhibits room-sized works called installations. Created on site by artists from across the country and around the world, our unique exhibitions feature a variety of media that engage all of the senses.
Each June the Mattress Factory hosts an Urban Garden Party – a gala event to benefit the museum. Tickets are still available. Pittsburgh blogger James Foreman held a contest to win a ticket to the event – Win a Date With James. While James’ date has already been selected – follow the Mattress Factory on Facebook and Twitter for more chances to win.
