Happy New Year!  Welcome to our first weekend list for 2013.  Lots of fun in the snow, or possibly rain for this weekend – regardless of the weather – here are some unique events to check out all around Western PA this weekend.

Ice is Nice Ice Skating in Pittsburgh

  • Last weekend for skating on Penquins Pond at the Highmark Stadium
  • Saturday is the Mascot Skate at Schenley Park
 
Beaver County Shovel Riding Championships

  • Scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2013 (could be rescheduled if there isn’t enough snow – call 724-770-2060 to check race status)
  • Old Economy Park, just off Route 989 in Economy
  • 8am Practice Runs
  • 10am Competition Starts

Franktuary – Now Open in Lawrenceville

  • The owners of Pittsburgh’s finest hot dog establishment located downtown, Franktuary, have opened a new location in Lawrenceville

Happy Friday – here is a list of the events we discussed on WDVE this morning.  With Halloween and Election Day behind us we are officially in the holiday season.  Our first, of what is sure to be many holiday events is the Historic Harmony German Christmas Market.
