  • Pandemic – Global Music Dance Night – 5th Anniversary Celebration

    One of the many things I have learned from writing this blog and meeting great Pittsburgh people (a huge thank you to everyone who has helped to spread the word about the Steelers Party this Sunday) is an appreciation of good music.  I think that many would say I have no taste in music – I tend to play the same songs on the

    jukebox – No Diggity – is usually one of them.  Anyone who has every borrowed my car, when I had a car knows the CD was usually Chaka Khan – Life is a Dance – a gem of a CD (the cover art speaks volumes about this album) that I picked up at Half Priced Books.

    But as I mentioned in an earlier post – I have learned there are good DJs and bad DJs in Pittsburgh.  One of the good ones is DJ Juddy – who is also a super nice person, a great writer and has lots of good stories about Pittsburgh and Steelers bars.  I think he is also the person who introduced me to the best Pittsburgh song ever… (more…)

  • Pub Quiz Night

    Trivia is good and Pub Quiz Night at the brillobox is really good. Every wednesday 9 pm. Bring your friends – gift certificate prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

    I would love to learn about other trivia nights. Rumor has it that there is Trivia at the Claddagh Irish Pub on Tuesday night but I have yet to confirm that.

  • Cocktails for a Cause

    This Tuesday – all proceeds from Happy Hour at the Brillobox benefits Planned Parenhood of Western, PA. The last Cocktails for a Cause is one of the best happy hours I have attended in a long time. The Brillobox is great and usually has $2 appetizers on Tuesday.
