Links Worth a Look – August 24th

Here are some links/articles/blog posts that are worth a look:

  • Ambiance Boutique to Open a 3rd Location in Lawrenceville in September 2009 – Ambiance Boutique is a project of the non profit Bethlhem Haven – they have two consignment shops located in Regent Square and Oakmont all of the proceeds from Ambiance Boutique benefit Bethlehem Haven. A third location will be opening on Butler Street in Lawrenceville in September 2009. They have a great selection on women’s clothing (the Oakmont location also carries home decor items) and are very helpful when it comes to taking consignments too. Check out the photo of the new shop and follow Ambiance on twitter – www.twitter.com/ambiancepgh Continue reading

Meet the Real Geeks Who Ride Bikes on Friday

Back in February I read this blog post on The Blog Herald about 2 guys who were planning a bike ride across the country to encourage more geeks to ride bikes to work.  When I looked at the map and saw they weren’t planning a stop in a geek friendly, bike friendly city like Pittsburgh – I sent Joe and Carlos an email about making a stop in Pittsburgh.

Ride Bikes. Meet People

Now that the snow is gone and the sun is out (and gas costs too much) biking is back in a big big way. I am really impressed with the biking community in Pittsburgh. BikePGH is the place to learn more about all things bike in Pittsburgh. (I also love their website design and function which was built by clickNathan – Hi Nathan!).  One of my goals for this summer is to get some time on a bike – maybe we can even organize some IheartPGH bike rides – leave a comment if you are interested.

Here are two groups that organize bike rides that are open for anyone to join:

DORC-PGH

Serious about Mountain Biking? – check out Dirt Rag – which is one of the leading magazines for the sport and it happens to be based right here in Pittsburgh.
