Thanks to everyone who replied to last weeks post about favorite local bakeries! I loved reading everyone’s responses and it is great to know that there are still quite a few local bakeries beyond the newer cupcake shops in town. Here are a few more bakery suggestions that were emailed to me.

Gluuteny – A gluten free bakery in Sq. Hill. One friend of IheartPGH swears by their brownies and he is even a gluten eater.

Bartram House Bakery – I know this is a drive but this place looks amazing

Jean March Chatellier – French baker in Millvale – check out the penguin cakes.

I had the red velvet cupcake, Friend of I Heart Pgh had the hazelnut and remarked “that was the best cupcke I have ever had.”

Joy of Cookies Tour

The shops and galleries of Lawrenceville are hosting their annual cookie tour. This is a great place to start your Christmas shopping and to support local businesses. Each business will offer a sampling of different cookies and give away the recipe.

A new bakery, Artisan Harvest, will be celebrating their grand opening in Lawrenceville during the cookie tour.

Lawrenceville Joy of Cookies Tour

Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m
On Saturday there will be a trolley running along the tour route.
