Kevin is a police officer who quit the force because of the racial injustices he experienced. He was told “Pull over any African American male you see driving a nice car.”

Reflections on Resistance is a presentation and conversaion on the Civil Rights Movement and the institutionalized racism African Americans face today. Not much has chanced since the civil rights movement of the 1960’s.

This is a chance to have an open conversation about race relations in our city and country.

Kevin Mosley is a retired Pennsylvania state trooper presents a discussion on race relations in the United States. He began traveling to Civil Rights sites to incorporate their histories into his book, and Mosley show pictures of these sites in his presentation.

“It almost feels like a calling, because I think my ancestors on the other side of the veil are saying to me ‘This story needs to be told and these truths need to be put out there, and we expect you to do that,’” Mosley said. “I also wanted to be able to push back against what I knew to be false, but I needed to get the knowledge into my head to be able to do that.”

BIO:
I’m a retired PA State Trooper with 20 years of service that includes drug interdiction, accident reconstruction and firearms instructor.

I have degrees in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Biology and a minor in Health Care Management. The goal was to become a Physician Assistant for my 2nd career. Things change…

I found my true calling researching a book on the conversation of race and ethnicity in America. Over the last 4 ½ years, I’ve traveled throughout the South to 50th and 60th Civil Rights anniversary events, conferences and historic sites, including Emmitt Till, The Montgomery Bus Boycott, The Little Rock Nine, Freedom Summer, The March on Washington DC, Bloody Sunday and The Selma to Montgomery March. I’ve had listened intently to veterans of the movement including Diane Nash, John Lewis, Juanita Abernathy and the Little Rock Nine as they’ve discussed the dangers and the difficulties of struggle.

Today as I continue my research, my life is dedicated to facilitating discussions on the history and sociology of race, ethnicity and social justice in America.
