Seriously Talking TRASH

No, I am not really going to write about garbage collection in the City of Pittsburgh. Although I do love city living because we do have garbage collection, but that is a topic for another time. I just discovered TRASH, Three Rivers Alliance of Serious Homebrewers. I have met some of Pittsburgh’s beer lovers (it is no secret that I am a big fan of Scott at East End Brewing) and I do know of a few homebrewers, but I didn’t know Pittsburgh had so many serious homebrewers. PGH Party for a Purpose benefits Pittsburgh Cares!!

PGH Party for a Purpose will be hosting its second event on Saturday, March 3rd. 100% of proceeds will benefit Pittsburgh Cares, an organization which inspires volunteerism by organizaing flexible and rewarding volunteer services projects that impact critical need in Greater Pittsburgh.

The party will feature Sonny Cheeba-Cheeba and the Downtown Get-Down Sound from 8:30pm-11:30pm; Mr. Quick M.C. and Akurious Don will perform from 11:30pm til midnight; and DJ Supa C will spin funk, breakbeats, and hiphop til 2am. There will be happy hour specials the ENTIRE night! $2.50 beers, 1/2 off appetizers, and $6 martinis!

Looking for some Pittsburgh wisdom

I am looking for some ideas of wise Pittbsurgh sayings for t-shirts and other gift items. At Spreadshirt we are setting up a shop, Washable Wisdom, that sells t-shirts, hats, aprons and other items with wise sayings. Last week I was, once again, talking about how great Pittsburgh is, so we want to add a section to the shop for local wisdom. Of course, since Spreadshirt is in Pittsburgh, we will start with Pittsburgh. Does anyone know of any wise sayings that refer to Pittsburgh? Or any quotes of wisdom from famous Pittsburghers? Please share.
