The Shadow Lounge

Just a few years ago, before Whole Foods, East Liberty was not a destination for many people. Now Highland Avenue’s activity expands beyond shadyside and the Shadow Lounge sits in the middle of this new found nighborhood at the corner of Highland and Baum Blvd. I am so glad Pittsburgh has Justin Strong who opened the Shadow Lounge 5 years ago to provide a coffee shop and performance space because there was no other place for performers. Run Baby Run

Run Baby Run – not just song lyrics! Run Baby Run is a one day political workshop for anyone that has ever thought about running for office or wants to learn more about local politics. The workshop is geared to give the a non-political person the tools and info needed to plan and run a successful campaign. The Sept. 17th workshop is for women only. The state of PA is far behind the other states in terms of elected women officials. Stay tuned as more workshops may be available. Sept. 17th – Dragon Boat Festival

We have dragon’s on these rivers. What is a dragon boat? – A 40 foot long boat with a dragon’s head on the front, powered by 20 paddlers and a drummer on the back.
