The Head of the Ohio is a regatta that attracts rowers and crew teams from all over the country to row on Pittsburgh’s rivers. The Head of the Ohio has been held here in Pittsburgh since 1986. In the past 2 years the race has been named one of the top 10 regattas in the country. Even if you aren’t a rower this is worth a visit on Saturday – another great excuse to see the waterfront and meet some great people.
The Head of the Ohio is hosted by Three Rivers Rowing Association (TRRA). The races start at 8 am and run until 4 pm. There will be food and concessions.
They also have a great commemorative painting from Pittsburgh artist Johno Prascak. Prints are available for purchase at the race registration or by calling Three Rivers Rowing Association 412-231-TRRA.
