Just Harvest is a Pittsburgh nonprofit organization that works to eliminate hunger in Allegheny county. On Tuesday, June 21, 2011 – Just Harvest will hold their annual meeting followed by a screening of the documentary Food Stamped. Both the meeting and the documentary are free and open to the public.
About Food Stamped:
The husband-and-wife filmmaking team Shira and Yoav Potash of San Francisco, Calif. In their new documentary, ‘Food Stamped,’ they decided to put Shira’s cooking knowhow as a nutrition educator to the test by attempting to eat healthfully for one week on an average food stamp allotment – about $1.00 per meal in their case.
