Shamrocks and Bald Heads for St. Baldrick's Foundation (and I Shamrock PGH T-shirt Giveaway)

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a foundation that supports children with cancer.  Each year they have a fundraiser where individuals volunteer to raise money and shave their heads – it is fun and it is a show of solidarity with kids who lose their hair to chemo and radiation treatments.

billtolandstbaldA felllow Pittsburgher, Bill Toland,  has volunteered his head to the cause and could use your help in meeting his goal of raising $3000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.  Click here to go to Bill Toland’s fundraising page and support the cause.  (Help us track donations from IheartPGH readers by giving a donation that ends in .17).

I Shamrock PGH T-shirt Give Away

shamrockpghTo help Bill spread the word about this great cause we are going to offer a little t-shirt giveaway.  The good folks at Commonwealth Press have printed up a nifty I Shamrock PGH t-shirt just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.  Continue reading

Shades of Green

Celebrate Green, Be Green.  Join local Green businesses in Lawrenceville to celebrate art from recyled materials and other eco friendly shopping for a St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

Saturday, March 15, 11am-8pm.

Activities for the whole family.  Fresh Heirlooms is a new shop that sells furniture and home accessories made from recycled materials.  Some friends of mine have an awesome book shelf that was made here out of some old wire spools.  Artisian Harvest, a local bakery and cafe will be serving up Irish treats like Guinness Stew, scones and Irish soda bread for the occasion,
