So this really says adventure – you sign up (deadline is April 30, 2009) with two friends and show up on race day (May 30, 2009). The course is a mystery until the race starts – the secret course includes treking, canoeing, biking and some mystery challenges and treasure hunts along the way. There are 3 divisions – coed, all female and all male.
Entry is $70/person and includes canoe, paddles, life jackets, t-shirts and a post race party.

I don’t know, sounds kind of challenging but pretty fun. What do you think?
The race is being organzied by REI and Urban Adventures which organizes similar races around the country.
Turns out Urban Adventure Racing is pretty popular – check out this blog which had quite a bit of info about races around the country – URBAD Racing. Check out Jonathan’s pictures from an Urban Adventure race in Pittsburgh last summer. Here is on local adventure racing – also some great pictures.
Let us know if you are going to enter so we can cheer you on!
