Help My StartUp Weekend Team

This weekend is the 2nd Pittsburgh StartUp Weekend – teams have 72 hours to create a business.  The fun starts on Friday night and teams work all day Saturday and Sunday – the weekend concludes on Sunday evening with presentations to judges. I know there are a few folks that read this blog that LOVE mac and cheese.  The Carnegie Library in East Liberty is hosting a Mac & Cheese Cook-off on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Sneak Peek at Station Street Hot Dogs

Twitter is all abuzz about the newest establishment to open in Pittsburgh.  Station Street Hot Dogs, located on Broad Street (kind of behind the new Target) in East Liberty, official opens today at 4pm. We got a sneak peek at the place from Dave Lagnese (who is a super supporter of the neighborhood – stop by and say hello to him at the East Liberty Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings – he is the man behind the Kew Park coffee bar). Hot Dog! 5 New Restaurants to Open in 2012

Over the holidays, the Post-Gazette reported that over 30 restaurants opened in Pittsburgh last year!  Which new restaurant was your favorite? Jamaican Coffee Grower Visits Pittsburgh on Dec. 10

One of the best kept secrets in the East Liberty Farmers’ Market is the Kew Park Coffee Bar.  The short version of the story is … a The Lagnese’s family, who live in Pittsburgh, takes a trip to Jamaica, visits the Kew Park Coffee Plantation and form a partnership to bring the Kew Park Coffee directly to Pittsburgh.  Dave Lagnese has volunteered much of his time to bring great things to the East Liberty Farmers’ Market (plus he also donates his time to Construction Junction).
