I just got this email from the WQED education email list about a Dr. Seuss birthday party at the Children’s museum this weekend. I love that there always seems to be a birthday party to celebrate in this town – did anyone go to the Toonseum or this case the Tunaseum to celebrate Charlie the Tuna‘s big 5-0 birthday last Saturday?

Oakland is probably the most delicious neighborhood in Pittsburgh. More tasty treats are packed into a few blocks, all conveniently located near hospitals and universities. This event looks like it is a recipe for success – $5 gets you free samples at 24 local dining establishments plus free admission to the Carnegie museum and free rides on the carousel – I don’t know why you would want to ride that after eating your way down Forbes ave, but if the merry-go-round is your thing, then it is an extra good deal for you.
