Here are some links/articles/blog posts that are worth a look:
- Day 62 of 365 Days of Beer – East End Smokestack Heritage Porter « 365 days… 365 beers – Drew lives in Pittsburgh and is drinking and blogging about a new beer every day for 365 days. Check out his post on the East End Smokestack Heritage Porter. He is currently on day 83 of this challenge. This blog looks great and has nice photos of the beers too. Maybe we can meet up with Drew one of these days to try out some other Pittsburgh beers.
- Post-Gazette Article on Digital Marketing – Fizz or fizzle? Pepsi ads end-run Super Bowl, go digital – This is an interesting article from the Post-Gazette for 2 reasons. 1. a look at how Pepsi is approching Super Bowl ads – rather than TV they are spending money on community grants voted on by the online community. 2. This article highlights some of the Pittsburgh advertising firms and the work they are doing in digital marketing.
- Growing Power's National-International Urban & Small Farm Conference – I had the opportunity to visit Growing Power, which is an urban farm located in Milwaukee last year during the GLUE (Great Lakes Urban Exchange) conference. It was an eye opening visit to learn about food sourcing, urban farming and land use. If you have any interest in small and urban farming this is a great organization to check out and I am sure this will be a fantastic conference.

Not sure how you found my site but thanks for the shout! East End definitely brews some top notch beer. Worth the drive to the brewery to sample their stuff if you like good beer and have never been there.

thanks for the comment! we found your site in the East End Brewing newsletter. Awesome idea for a blog. Where is your favorite spot to try new beers in Pittsburgh?
To actually try on site I would have to say Bocktown. They get a lot of hard to find beers. Sharp edge is always pretty solid also.
For mix six packs 3 sons in Wexford is the best hands down. A lot of variety, well organized, beer is fresh, decently priced etc.
The best in the area for all of the above is Vintage Estate in Boardman Ohio. I know its not Pittsburgh but they have 800+ bottles, and at about half the price because of PA’s idiotic beer laws. More than worth the 45 minute drive. They were voted best beer store in the WORLD on ratebeer.com
I had heard rumors about Vintage Estate, but I didn’t know they were
voted best beer store in the world.
